FAQ
What should I do if I forget to use the metoject® prefilled syringe?
If you miss the subcutaneous injection with the metoject® PFS, you must make up for this as soon as possible. The weekly cycle will then be postponed accordingly. In individual cases, your doctor may decide that you should continue with the previous weekly cycle. Do not use double the amount.
How do I dispose of my metoject® PFS after use?
Once the injection has been completed, the pre-filled syringe can be collected in a special disposal box. As soon as the disposal box is completely full, it can be disposed of with household waste.
Is it normal for a drop of fluid to come out of the front of the needle before the injection?
When removing the plastic protective cap, it is indeed possible that a little liquid will leak out of the front of the needle. However, this need not worry you. The pre-filled syringe should be used as usual.
What do I do if I see an air bubble in the yellow liquid?
If the liquid contains an air bubble, this need not worry you. It is harmless if you inject the air bubble under the skin. Please do not try to remove the air bubble. The air bubble ensures that the MTX solution is injected completely.
How can I transport the metoject® prefilled syringe when travelling?
When travelling by air, you should carry the metoject® pre-filled syringe in its original packaging in your hand luggage to avoid possible difficulties if you lose a piece of luggage. A multilingual carry-on certificate and a travel brochure with further tips can be found HERE.
What do I need to bear in mind when storing the metoject® prefilled syringes?
The metoject® prefilled syringe should be stored at room temperature (< 25°C). On hot days above 25°C, please store the prefilled syringe in the refrigerator (> 2°C). Allow the liquid to warm to room temperature before injection.
